Aims of the Morecambe Bay Primary Care Collaborative
• To support general practice within North Lancashire and South Cumbria
• Act as an interface for Primary Medical Care and the rest of the Health and Social Care System
• Provide high quality, at scale services, both clinical and non-clinical
WHAT WE DO
The Morecambe Bay Primary Care Collaborative supports local GP Practices and Patients
North Lancashire and South Cumbria is made up of over 30 GP practices. There are around 300 GPs working in the area and there is a registered population of over 350,000 people.
All the GP practices in the area work alongside each other closely. As a group of local doctor surgeries we are committed to continuing to play a central role in looking after and caring for our patients and their families within our area. All practices have representation that sits on the local Clinical Commissioning Group’s membership our Board
Introduction to the Morecambe Bay Primary Care Collaborative
Our Results
Morecambe Bay Primary Care Collaborative (MBPCC) has been formed to support general practice, we work to help deliver, lead and shape primary care services locally.
We have been fortunate to create a rapidly growing organisation, that is helping practices and the local health and social care system deliver improved care for local people.
Over recent years we have grown considerably, now employing over 150 local people who work in Primary Care across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
Our clinical services operate effectively, delivering good quality care to the population we serve and aiming to meet their needs with services such as Home Visiting and Evening and Weekend primary care appointments.
We also lead on Primary Care Training and Education for the whole of Lancashire and South Cumbria, through our Training Hub team, commissioned by Health Education England and NHS England to deliver excellent development opportunities for our local practice based teams, helping them care for patients more effectively.
